Lot#: 422

DESCRIPTION: France, mantel clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring-driven pendule de Paris movement mounted in a ornate cast brass rococo style case with polychrome painted porcelain panels, the lowest depicting birds in flight, the central panel showing a courting couple, the dial and topmost urn with images of putti.
CONDITION: The cast brass case with foliate design is dusty, but appears complete with no breaks to the leaves and scrolls. The original gilding is gone except for the deepest spots within the casting. The lower left porcelain panel has a crack running through it. The convex beveled glass and gold hands are very good.
